According to the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA), the country exported 126,800 tonnes of pork in July 2025, compared with 131,500 tonnes this year.
At the same time, export revenue declined. In July, it totalled $298.3 million, 5.6% less than the $316.1 million recorded in the same month of 2025.
Exports Up 9.1% in the First Seven Months
In January–July 2026, Brazil shipped 925,600 tonnes of pork to international markets. This was 9.1% more than in the same period of 2025, when exports totalled 848,800 tonnes.
Revenue for the seven-month period reached $2.158 billion, up 5.8% from $2.040 billion a year earlier.
ABPA president Ricardo Santin said the July results confirmed the upward trend in Brazilian pork exports. According to him, higher shipment volumes and greater market diversification demonstrate the sector’s competitiveness and its ability to strengthen its presence in both traditional and new destinations.
Philippines Remains the Largest Buyer
In July, the Philippines was the largest market for Brazilian pork, importing 20,300 tonnes.
Other major destinations included:
- Japan — 18,400 tonnes;
- Chile — 13,900 tonnes;
- China — 9,100 tonnes;
- Argentina — 6,500 tonnes;
- Mexico — 6,300 tonnes;
- Hong Kong — 6,200 tonnes;
- Uruguay — 6,200 tonnes.
ABPA also highlighted growth in sales to Japan, Argentina, Peru, South Africa and other markets. According to the association, this underlines the importance of opening new trade destinations and consolidating Brazil’s position in markets where it is already present.
Santa Catarina Accounts for Nearly Half of Exports
Among Brazilian states, Santa Catarina remained the largest pork exporter in July, with 64,600 tonnes shipped, 0.2% more than a year earlier.
Rio Grande do Sul exported 29,400 tonnes (+0.2%), while Paraná shipped 21,700 tonnes (+15.3%).
Stronger growth was recorded in Minas Gerais, where exports rose by 24.4% to 4,200 tonnes, and Mato Grosso, up 35.7% to 3,800 tonnes.
Thus, despite the decline in export revenue in July, Brazilian pork shipment volumes continue to grow, while the country’s export structure is becoming increasingly diversified.
