The purpose of this partnership will be to pilot and provide digital technologies to Ukrainian pork producers, which in the long term will contribute to the recovery and further development of the industry.
"EcoPork offers digital solutions that increase pork production efficiency and reduce environmental impact. The circumstances in which Ukrainian pig farms currently operate require such innovations, as well as smart and less resource-intensive approaches. Promoting the introduction of new technologies for efficient pork production is one of the strategic goals of the Association, so we are confident that such cooperation will contribute to the spread of innovative solutions that, in addition to improving production and economic results, will reduce the impact on the environment," states the AUPB.
“Eco-Pork is honored to collaborate with the Association of Ukrainian Pig Breeders and support the green recovery of Ukraine's pork industry through our digital technologies. We believe that smart, data-driven solutions are essential for building resilient and sustainable livestock operations. We are excited to see how digital transformation can empower Ukrainian pig producers and bring long-term value to the industry,” states Eco-Pork.
Eco-Pork and the AUPB will soon begin the feasibility study, based on the Grant Agreement concluded between Eco-Pork and UNIDO, which is the initial stage before conducting pilot technology demonstration which requires the grant beneficiary to meet conditions set forth by UNIDO, of implementing the “Project for the green recovery of Ukraine's industry through technology transfer and joint creation of new enterprises with Japanese private companies.” As part of this project, two Ukrainian pig farms will be able to adapt digital solutions for pig farm management and an AI-based biosensor camera to their production, allowing them to optimize the process of fattening and sorting animals.
Note: The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is implementing a green industrial recovery programme for Ukraine 2024-2028 from the ongoing war. The "Green industrial recovery project for Ukraine through technology transfer from and the co-creation of new businesses with Japan's private industries”, funded by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan (METI), aims to support country’s industrial recovery and innovation ecosystem building through technology transfer, capacity-building and business co-creation between Ukrainian and Japanese private sectors.
