Despite a slight decline in shipments in April, U.S. pork exports to Taiwan posted strong growth in January–April 2026. Export volume increased by 53%, while export value rose by 41% compared with the same period last year.

According to the U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF), the United States exported 4,573 metric tons of pork to Taiwan during the first four months of 2026, representing a 53% increase compared with the relatively low level recorded in the same period of 2025.

The value of these exports increased by 41% to US$10.8 million.

In April, however, U.S. pork exports to Taiwan were below the level recorded a year earlier. Nevertheless, this did not prevent overall shipments from maintaining strong growth during the January–April period.

USMEF noted that Taiwan remains one of the promising markets for U.S. pork, and the results for the beginning of 2026 indicate a gradual strengthening of the United States’ position in this market.

Industry experts point out that the growth in exports to Taiwan reflects the broader positive performance of U.S. pork exports across Asian markets, which continue to be key drivers of the sector’s international trade expansion.
