The pig farm of the KSG Agro agricultural holding in the Kherson region has been hit three times by Russian drones and missiles since 8 December. This was reported by United24, citing comments from the company's management.

According to Sergey Kasyanov, chairman of the board of directors of KSG Agro, the attacks were targeted and systematic, and each attack poses a real threat to both the production infrastructure and the employees of the enterprise.

‘It's like playing Battleship. Some buildings are empty, some have animals in them. Fortunately, the last three strikes hit empty buildings. But the physical, financial and psychological consequences of the attacks remain,’ Kasyanov said.

Although the farm in the Kherson region is one of the smallest in the agricultural holding's structure, its importance for the region is extremely significant. After the de-occupation of part of the Kherson region, the enterprise became one of the few stable employers, providing jobs for hundreds of local residents in difficult security conditions.

At the initial stage of production recovery, about 90 people worked on the farm. However, constant shelling, risks to life and psychological pressure forced many employees to leave their jobs. As of today, only about 20 employees remain at the enterprise.

‘People live one or two kilometres from the farm. They work because they need to live and feed their families. But every day is stressful,’ said the chairman of the board of directors.

The company emphasises that attacks on agricultural infrastructure have not only economic consequences but also serious social implications. The destruction of production facilities, threats to animals and constant danger to staff undermine the prospects for the recovery of rural areas in de-occupied lands and make it difficult to preserve jobs.

KSG Agro continues to operate in extremely difficult conditions, trying to maintain production and support the community, while recognising that security risks remain a key challenge for the agricultural sector in the Kherson region.
