Ukraine feeds about 400 million people around the world every year, and the extension of the Grain Agreement is necessary for all countries to prevent a global food crisis. Ukraine must preserve the «grain corridor» by enlisting the support of international partners. The importance of the «Grain Initiative» is confirmed by figures.

This was stated by the Chairman of the WAR Andriy Dykun:

«Now the grain sea corridor provides 60% of all exports of grain and food products from Ukraine. For 3 months 386 vessels from 8,8 million tons of agricultural production left the Ukrainian ports. I would also like to mention the effect of the „Grain Initiative“ on the stabilization of food prices in the world. The FAO Food Price Index went down to 136 points in September against the record high of 160 points. We hope that the Agreement will be prolonged. As Ukraine wins the war, common sense will prevail on this issue».

For Ukrainian agrarians the signing and prolongation of the Grain Agreement will be a signal to sow in the spring, added the head of the WAR.
