The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine has initiated the extension of the deadline for farmers to apply for grain storage sleeves. The second phase of the joint program of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), which lasted from 13 to 23 October, showed that agricultural producers received 228 applications for 3,468 sleeves for temporary storage of grain.

The deadline for applications has been extended until October 30, 2022 inclusive.

During the first phase of the program, which lasted until Oct. 9, 1,494 applications were received from small and medium agricultural producers to receive 30,120 sleeves.

The basic requirements for program participants were:

  • Land area in official cultivation (owned or leased) of 100 to 10,000 hectares;
  • Use of the sleeves obtained exclusively for storage of their own grown products;
  • location of cultivated land in the government-controlled areas of Ukraine;
  • independent removal of sleeves from warehouses in their own region or in the neighboring region (from Dnipropetrovsk - for agricultural producers from Donetsk, Luhansk or Zaporizhzhia regions, picking up from Nikolaev region - for agricultural producers from Kherson region).

Applications for participation in the program are submitted via the State Agrarian Register (https://www.dar.gov.ua).

Recall that the project is implemented by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and the FAO with the financial support of Canada, Japan and the Minderoo Foundation.
