Mexico's pig industry is showing the fastest growth rates in recent years. In the first half of 2025, the country produced 921,226 tonnes of pork, which is 5.5% more than in the same period in 2024. These figures were released by the Information Service for Agriculture, Livestock, Food and Fisheries (SIAP).

This figure significantly exceeds the growth rates of other sectors of the meat industry. For comparison, beef production increased by only 0.2% during the same period, and poultry meat by 3.2%.

The results for June are particularly impressive: 167,560 tonnes of pork, which is 10.9% more than in June 2024 and 2.2% more than in May this year.

Experts note that the rapid growth of the industry is due to investments in the modernisation of production facilities, the expansion of the domestic market, and stable demand for pork both domestically and abroad.

The current pace of development indicates that Mexico not only maintains its position among the leading pork producers in the region, but also has the potential to strengthen its position in the global market in the coming years.
