A series of practical trainings on the responsible use of antibiotics in livestock production is being launched in Ukraine. The initiative is implemented with the participation of the Association of Ukrainian Pig Breeders within the international EpiC project.

The programme rollout comes amid legislative changes and stricter requirements for veterinary practice. Producers are increasingly facing questions on how to comply with new veterinary regulations, what role licensed veterinarians should play, and how to ensure treatment traceability and proper record-keeping.

The trainings are designed to address these practical aspects. Participants will learn step-by-step approaches to managing disease cases—from diagnosis to evidence-based prescription of treatments—as well as strategies for farm-level antibiotic use management.

Special attention will be given to record-keeping, veterinary documentation, traceability requirements, and prevention measures, including biosecurity, vaccination, and herd health monitoring.

The first training is scheduled for April 23. The programme includes not only theoretical learning but also the implementation of practical solutions on farms, followed by analysis of results.

The initiative is expected to help producers transition from reactive antibiotic use to a systematic approach to animal health management in line with modern standards and practices.

Participation is free of charge, but the number of places is limited. Registration: +380688629496
