The course consists of five modules that cover the most important aspects of the fight against ASF:
- Biosecurity as the main method of disease prevention.
- Risk factors and current research on the virus.
- Threat assessment and algorithms of actions in case of suspected outbreak.
- Practical cases and international experience in the fight against ASF.
The training takes place in a convenient online format, and after each module, participants complete tasks to consolidate their knowledge. Successful completion of the course provides an opportunity to receive a certificate confirming the readiness to work to high biosafety standards.
What do participants say about the course?
Galina Gorlyuk, Manager, Dan-Pharm Ukraine LLC
‘Very accessible presentation of the material, even for those who do not have a veterinary education. I made important conclusions about the consequences of the disease and understood why our company uses such biosafety methods. The information is well structured, although I wish the modules were a little shorter - 15-20 minutes is quite enough. Overall, the course is very interesting and useful!’
Andrii Baidyk, Production Director, Dan-Pharm Ukraine LLC
‘The course is full of interesting and practical information. Having considerable experience in pig production, I can confidently say that the advice and materials on the virus have real practical application. Especially useful was the information on the lethality of the virus, comparison of modern research with the ‘old school’ approaches.’
Mykola Kornievskyi, Chief Medical Officer, Marlen-KD LLC
‘The training was very informative. We have already started thinking about changing approaches to biosecurity in our farm and are even considering setting up an internal working group on ASF. I liked the studio format of the presentation and the professionalism of the speakers.’
Serhii Mohylko, Head of Lider LLC
‘The course is very interesting, the material is presented in a quality manner, the lectures are well structured. From my own experience, I can say that the ASF is not what we were taught about before, nor is it what is written in the instructions. We have faced this problem, so I believe that such training needs to be developed, experience shared and topics expanded. For example, a course on biosafety would be very relevant. Thank you for this initiative!’
