The United States of America will provide the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) with $68 million to buy wheat in Ukraine in order to send it to the most vulnerable countries in terms of food security. U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said this on Twitter.

"The United States will contribute $68 million to the World Food Program to buy Ukrainian wheat to address the severe global food crisis. We are committed to supporting global food security for the most vulnerable and encourage all countries to follow suit," he wrote.

Ukraine expects to harvest about 20 million tons of wheat this year - three times what we consume during the year.

"Already now we can say with confidence: if the military situation does not worsen, Ukrainians will have more than enough high-quality food wheat for consumption. And everything that will go beyond the necessary domestic volumes, we will export to help maintain world food stability", assured the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Markiyan Dmytrosevych.
