Prime Minister noted that the restoration of our country is divided into several main stages. The first one is the immediate recovery, which is happening now and will continue next year. The other stages are medium- and long-term recovery, as well as the modernization of Ukraine on the principle of building back better, or "build back better than it was".
"The need for funds for immediate reconstruction this year and next year is $17 billion, of which $3.4 billion is needed for this year. The World Bank has already set up a trust fund so that we can accumulate this amount from our allies. We are negotiating aid with the U.S., Germany, the EU and the IFIs. While these negotiations are ongoing, the government and local authorities are already working to rebuild destroyed infrastructure and housing. In recent months we have restored more than three thousand different objects, and the Government has allocated for this almost 3.5 billion UAH, "- said Denis Shmigal.
Prime Minister noted that the programme of rapid renovation provides for the reconstruction of critical infrastructure, hospitals, schools, damaged housing and transport infrastructure. According to the head of the Ukrainian government, the long-term renewal will begin the day after Ukraine's victory and the end of hostilities.
