Two more wild boar deaths have been recorded as part of the ongoing African Swine Fever Outbreak.

Poland and Lithuania each reported one dead wild boar in peripheral rural areas earlier this month, according to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).

Both cases, identified a week ago, were adjacent to the Belarussian border.

On the Polish outbreak, an OIE spokesperson said: «The notified case of Africanswine fever in wild boar has been detected in the already infected area under proper restrictions concerning African swine fever.»

The boar was found in a forest near the village of Wiejki in far eastern Poland, close to the Belarussian border.

Lithuania’s outbreak occurred in Utena county, approximately one kilometre from the Belarus border.

No new outbreaks were reported in Estonia or Russia.
