The European Parliament has approved the decision to provide Ukraine with a 9-billion-euro temporary aid for repayment of non-critical budgetary needs.

"I am glad that this evening the leaders reached an agreement on the sixth package of sanctions. This is an important step forward. We also agreed to work on the mechanism of providing Ukraine with a new and impressive package of macrofinancial assistance of up to 9 billion euros", - she said.

This decision was also confirmed by the president of the European Rada Charles Michel.

"9 billion euros has been confirmed by the European Council," he wrote. We note that macrofinancial aid is loans granted by the European Union on voluntary terms to neighboring countries, primarily to support their balance of payments.
