On Wednesday, March 8, the leadership of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine met with the delegation of the EBRD. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry.

The parties discussed the current situation in the agricultural sector of Ukraine and the priority needs. They separately dwelt on the need to ensure the liquidity of the agricultural market, the reform of irrigation and the problem of demining of agricultural land.

According to Minister Mykola Solsky, Ukrainians desperately need EBRD support.

"Most of all it concerns the volume of crediting of agribusiness. We also have super important irrigation projects. Ukrainian farmers are ready to invest in irrigation even during the war, so we must support them and take steps to systematically strengthen the agricultural sector," he said.

The representatives of the bank assured that they will continue to support the Ukrainian farmers and expressed their willingness to provide funding in an amount not less than last year.

In addition, they talked about the need for assistance in the earliest possible demining of agricultural land.

"It is the agricultural lands that are mined most of all. Now there is a process of deregulation aimed at the fact that more private companies can be involved in the process. So we will count on your support", he said.
