At the peak of the invading army's offensive (February-March), Ukraine lost control of nearly 25% of its territory, including millions of hectares of agricultural land.

Those lands in controlled territory that were 50−70 km deep from the front line were physically shot through by the enemy's artillery and ADW forces and damaged and overburdened with explosive ordnance.

There was a fuel crisis in the spring, which took several months to resolve. There was also a situation of deterioration in the ability to use most of the infrastructure that is supposed to ensure the work of the agroindustrial complex. We are talking about grain elevators, warehouses, transport for shipment of products, sea ports, processing plants located in the center, east and south of the country, etc.

One example in the livestock sub-industry is in the Kherson region, the largest poultry farm in Ukraine and Europe was looted and destroyed, killing 4 million chickens. Russian invaders massively slaughtered livestock, stole crops and agricultural equipment.
This process continues to this day.

Before the full-scale war, 400 million people around the world, not counting Ukrainians themselves, depended on Ukrainian agricultural products. The agricultural sector accounted for 20% of Ukraine's GDP and over 40% of all exports.
