According to preliminary data from the Livestock Production Statistics released by IBGE, hog slaughter increased by 7.2% in the first quarter of 2022 compared to the same period of the previous year. The number of pigs slaughtered totaled 13.64 million, an increase of 2% compared to the fourth quarter of 2021.
Preliminary pork production results point to 1.24 million tons in the first quarter of this year, an increase of 6.7% compared to the same period of 2021 and an increase of 1.8% compared to the fourth quarter of 2021.
