Andriy Dykyn, the chairman of Ukranian Agrarian Council had addressed the Chair of the European Parliament's Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development, Norbert Lins, regarding the statement by the Polish Deputy Minister of Agriculture to cancel the preferential treatment of Ukrainian agricultural products such as corn, chicken, and apples and to apply strict controls to all grain imports from Ukraine, including technical grain. The Polish side proposes to discuss the statement at a meeting of the EU Council of Ministers of Agriculture next week.

«Let me remind you that according to Regulation No. 870, the regime will be applied until June 5, 2023. However, it is important for Ukraine to preserve it and extend it further, as the agricultural sector is a key component of the Ukrainian economy.

We also discussed with Mr. Lins assistance with equipment for the fastest possible demining of the territories so that farmers can safely go to the fields during the sowing season, and the creation of an international fund to provide guarantees to commercial banks so that farmers from the de-occupied territories can take out loans to rebuild farms destroyed by russians, destroyed or stolen equipment and restore livestock.

Agreed to cooperate with the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development of the European Parliament to provide timely information on the real state of the agricultural sector in Ukraine and support farmers who have suffered the most from russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

I thanked the European Parliament for its constant and unwavering support of our country since the first days of the war,» comments Andriy Dykyn.
