US researchers claim that the number of unique African Swine Fever virus genotypes should be lowered to 6. Until now, genotypical classification led to the belief that there were 25 genotypes. According to the American team, this should be substantially lower.

Scientists from Australia and the USA are teaming up to develop a safe and effective vaccine against African Swine Fever (ASF). That news was shared at the website of Australia’s national science agency (CSIRO).

Since the beginning of 2023, 2347 cases of African swine fever have been confirmed in wild boars in Poland.
