In January-August, Ukraine exported to Georgia more than 2 thousand tons of live pigs, the total value is 3 million dollars. Thus, volumes of deliveries grew almost one and a half times, in comparison with the same period last year, and currency returns have doubled at this expense.

The analytical department of the Association of Pig Producers of Ukraine reported about this.

Such a «breakthrough» in export activity is due to not only the lively demand from Georgia, but also the activities of the four main suppliers of Ukrainian pigs to this country, commenting on the APPU.

So, in January-August 2016 only four pork producers exported a pigs-mature-for-slaughter, at the end of the year the number of such operators increased, and in the end of the eight months of 2017 it doubled. However, the main increase in exports occurred precisely at the expense of the four most active operators, whose aggregate share in the export of live pigs reaches almost 90%.

The undisputed leadership in the export of live pigs to Georgia for the second year in a row holds Marlene-KD LLC. In particular, in January-July, the enterprise’s share accounted 45% of the exported livestock, and the number of pigs sold through this channel increased by one and a half times.

The second place belongs to Danosha LLC, which has opened for itself this sales direction last fall, and this year it provided almost 1/5 of the exported pigs.
The third step taken by Agroindustrial Company LLC (14%, respectively).
And closes the quartet of the most active exporters of pigs-mature-for-slaughter AgroPrime Holding, LLC, which sold to Georgia three times more than a year earlier for seven months in 2017.

The Association of Pig Producers is a non-profit, voluntary organization. Created July 14, 2011. At present, the APPU combines 35 farms with a mother stock of 35% of the total national volume. The main objective of the Association is to protect the rights and interests of pig farms, to achieve world standards of production through the introduction of modern technologies. In addition, the association acts as the organizer of educational and other industry events.
