Downward movement of farm-gate price  is reinforced now. Taking into account last week's average price, that sunk by almost 5% , prices range dropped to 33-36 UAH / kg.  But Friday's trading results indicate strengthening of this trend at the turn of seasons. In particular, the planned price range for the 9-th week dropped to the level 31-33 UAH / kg, while the average price mark lost more than 7% compared to the previous week.

Sluggish purchasing and reduced pork consumption, usual in the Great fast period are top prerequisites of purchase price weakening.

However, rapid price fall should be limited by this year's break-even index and smaller pigs supply due to the significant number of ASF cases (49 places in 19 regions are under the ASF quarantine). Loin, belly and leg lost in price more than 1 UAH / kg.

Retail prices for pork also felt some weakening in late February. Thus, the average price of pork steak dropped by 1,5 UAH / kg. However, not all kinds of pork integrated fall in commodity prices. So there is a reason to expect a slightly lower pork prices on supermarket shelves in the first spring days.
