Today’s changes on the pigs mature for slaughter market go in contrast to traditional fluctuations. While the first four weeks of the year were characterized by a slower decrease in purchase prices for pigs in live weight than in previous years, the beginning of February promises to «break out» from established trends by 6% jump. Thus, the expected late January and early December price, not only retained the position achieved, but also rose significantly.

While the previous week average price was slightly higher than 30 UAH/kg, this figure could reach up to 32 UAH/kg in the first days of February.Purchasers willingness to compromise was caused by a supply of live pigs limited considerably and adverse weather conditions. Consequently, pork producers have managed to dispose the livestock by the price higher than the previous week by1.5 UAH/kg, and at times 2 UAH/kg.
