The exports where better in terms of value but worse in terms of quantity with respect to the first semester of 2016.

The Brazilian pork exports during the first semester of 2017 (taking into account all the products, including fresh meat and processed products) reached a value of USD814.7 million: +28.5% than in the same period in 2016, when USD633.8 million were reached. This is the best half-year performance in terms of value in the last 5 years.

In terms of tonnes, the accumulated figure in the first six months of 2017 reached 343.3 thousand tonnes: −2.8% lower than the figure reached in the same period in 2016, with 353.3 thousand tonnes.

The non-EU European countries still are the main destination, with 138,600 tonnes between January and June: +13.5% with respect to the first six months in 2016. The second place is held by Asia, that imported 118.4 thousand tonnes: −22.3% with respect to the same period in 2016.
