Experts note that there is a great need to develop the agro-processing sector, which will contribute to the recovery of Ukraine's economy and provide an opportunity to attract funds from the export of goods or raw materials.

As of today, the total amount of losses in the agricultural sector as a result of the war reaches USD 34.2 billion, and this figure will continue to grow as the fighting in Ukraine continues. However, the government, investors and entrepreneurs are already contributing to the creation of a strong agricultural sector in Ukraine.

During an online event organized by UkraineInvest, the government's investment promotion and support office, Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine Mykola Solskyi highlighted priority steps for the development of agro-processing. He noted that Ukraine has enough raw materials and its volumes will increase, especially after the war is over. The raw materials will need to be processed, and the opening of new markets will stimulate the development of agro-processing capacities in Ukraine. The Ministry is confident that new markets will be opened, primarily in Asia.

"An example is the continuation of trade with the EU without quotas, and we have actively started selling products to the European Union. A lot of work is being done on this issue," says Solsky.

Also, the government and the Ministry of Agrarian Policy will work to simplify the activities of farmers who decide to process agricultural products.
