The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed the bill No. 7632 «On Amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine regarding exemption from paying tax on immovable property other than land, for destroyed or damaged immovable property».

The said law exempts from the need to pay land fees, minimum tax obligation and single tax for agricultural land located on the territories where military operations are or were conducted or temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation, and for land under conservation or contaminated with explosive objects.

«Farmers have been eagerly awaiting the passage of this bill, because the need to pay taxes for land that cannot actually be used, among other things, may have encouraged farmers to violate safety regulations. In particular, to cultivate land that has not yet been cleared or to clear it on their own, which is dangerous for life and health», the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Foodstuffs Mykola Solsky said.

For transparency of application of norms of the law, in part of exemption from taxation of mined and contaminated land, and in order to prevent abuse of the benefits defined by law, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy will initiate a separate procedure for monitoring of the use of such land.
