Ukraine has already sown 10 million hectares of the planned 13 million hectares with crops, and work is underway to clear the land of mines.

This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a government meeting.

"Despite all the difficulties, more than 10 million hectares have already been sown. In total, we expect to sow more than 13 million this year," he said.

The Prime Minister emphasized that this fully satisfies the domestic demand of the Ukrainian market and leaves a significant space for exports and support for the economy.

"Mine danger is another challenge for both farmers and the entire country. Mine clearance has been identified as one of our key recovery priorities for this year. A special responsible body has been set up. We are attracting funds, equipment and technologies to make the process move faster," added Shmyhal.

According to him, 110,000 hectares have already been surveyed and more than 600,000 explosive items have been found.

The Prime Minister added that demining, especially in the frontline regions, allows for sowing and returning life to communities.
