Agromash, PE: unconventional and natural!

Vakuliha village, Karlivskyi district, Poltava region 200 sows of English and French genetics
Doing  the pig-breeding business since 2000 Land Bank - 4,5 thousand hectares

Handling piglets, finishers  and sows in hangars (11.6×33.4 m) is a peculiarity of the farm. In warm seasons  there are no more than 250 heads, and in the cold — about 270 pigs in the each hangar. Straw bedding is used. It is renovated  regularly: about  1-2 tons of straw are brought  and dispersed every week/. The bedding is cleaned every month in summer, in winter — less often (from December to mid-February don’t clean).

Straw wads are stored in the shape of triangle or English "L" or "U" in the units  where smaller piglets are kept.  It helps the animals to warm up at subfreezing temperatures.

Each hangar is divided into several zones:  "feeding area" (with a decahedral feeder for 50 places) and a resting area that occupies 2/3 of the total space.

The main herd and farrowing unit are in the reconstructed building of the farm.

Animals are fed by own-produced feeds (have own feed mill). Ingredients are grown on fields, go over the heat treatment, and then stored in a  grain bin for at least 2 months.

The farm sells pigs of 105-125 kg to private buyers by small batches (on average — 10 heads). The amount of sold pigs per year is about 4 thousand heads.
